Ja’Net Dubois, “Good Times” Star Age 74 Passed Away

Ja’Net Dubois, “Good Times” star passes away at age 74. Ja’Net Dubois, one of the stars of “Good Times,” was found dead on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, reported by TMZ. TMZ, also reported that family of Ja’Net Dubois confirmed that Ja’Net unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Glendale, California. She appeared to have no health issues and be in good health by those around her.

Ja’net is most known for her role as Willona Woods, the Evans family’s neighbor on the classic sitcom, “Good Times”. She also is well known for writing and singing the theme song, “Movin’ On Up,” for the sitcom, “The Jeffersons”.

She was born August 5, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. Her career started on Broadway and she performed in several plays including, “A Raisin In the Sun”. She also had many television appearances throughout her career. She was well rounded as an entertainer, that won 2 Emmy’s for voice over acting and she was a professional model. She appeared as a centerfold in Jet Magazine’s March 24, 1960 issue.

Ja’Net is the co-founder of the “Pan African Film & Arts Festival”, that showcases films showcases global films about people of African decent as well as fine arts. She is a community activist. DuBois Care Foundation’s supports after school programs that has a mission to empower youth. Ja’Net is also an artist, with her paintings being on exhibits regularly. In 2008, she released her CD “Hidden Treasures”, which has her famous, theme song, “Movin’ On Up”. She was also made an Honorary Member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc
